Florence Day 1

Today was my first whole day in Florence. The city is over 2000 years old and was one of the early cities of the renaissance. It was a very fun day. When I woke up, I ate breakfast in the hotel that we are staying in. After that, we walked around the streets looking at markets and shops untill 10:00. At 10:00 we took a segway tour around the city. It was a fantastic tour. We saw many places including the Duomo which is a very large cathedral. We also saw the house of Dante who wrote the famous Divine Comedy. It is a very long book that all high school kids in italy are required to read. The book was also made into a play. Out in front of the house there was a man who knew the entire play by heart. You can ask him to act out a part of the play and he will. After the tour we came back to our hotel and I did some home work. Now we are headed out to dinner.
